A better way to recycle your items
The Centre is run by a voluntary group that gives businesses and the general public the opportunity to recycle still-usable items rather than let them take up space in a landfill; and schools, early childhood centres and community groups the chance to access cheap resources.
Items can be almost anything; such things as spindles; ball bearings; springs; nuts and bolts; stationery; polystyrene packaging; cardboard; paper. If it can be used just as it is, be part of an art project or can be utilised for a science project then we will probably be happy to receive it.
If an educational institution or community group could use it, donate it. If you are not sure, please contact us.
Please come and see us at 44 Mahara Avenue in Birkenhead.
It is easy to find - you need the Onewa Road off ramp if you are coming via the Northern Motorway, travel all the way up Onewa Road until it becomes Highbury Bypass and take the first turning on the right, which is Mahara Avenue. Go down to the bottom of this road which leads into the Birkenhead Leisure and aquatic centre. The last house on the left is a museum, we are immediately behind the museum in what was a two bedroomed house.
We are open from 10am to 2.00pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
